Creating A Conjoint Virtual Shelf

Creating A Conjoint Virtual Shelf

Conjoint virtual shelves require slightly more preparation due to the complexity of the DCM/Conjoint models.

This step relies heavily on using Sawtooth Light house studio to create the conjoint Data files or if from another platform such as JMP / IBM SPSS, then these files need to be changed to fit the Sawtooth templates. You can create these in other software platform, however, this must strictly adhere the template formats we are using. Both of these file templates can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. or tjhe Share folder here.

We need to prepare a 4 files for the conjoint shelf

Step 1:

Prepare the product images. All images used should also be to the same spec as setting up a normal shelf. If you have not followed that example, you can review it here.

Remember to remove the backgrounds and make sure all images are named correctly and are formatted as PNGs.

Step 2:

The products need to have a description, and more importantly physical attributes, i.e. what is the real life dimension of the product. This is all set in FACINGS-Products.csv file.

The FACINGS-Products.csv File also contains the details for the number of facings each product should have in the conjoint example:

The most important Columns are A, C and D. In these columns we set the product SKU/ID name, that has to match the image name. C & D, set the physical size of the product on the shelf. This must be physically accurate.

You can download the example file from below.

Step 3:

We need the 2 files or equivalent from Sawtooth Light house studio.

The first file, Design-Tasks.csv sets out the rotations, i.e. Versions and tasks.

while the second file, Texts-PricePromo.csv is outputted as a translation file from Sawtooth. This is used to set the rotations and attributes.
